1. What This Website Is

Clinton County Criminal History is a private reference website operated independently of government. It does not hold official criminal records, perform official background checks, retrieve files, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

The site directs readers to custodians of Clinton County records, including the sheriff's office, the District and Circuit courts, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to Kentucky agency records subject to exemptions, while KRS 17.151 establishes the Kentucky State Police centralized criminal-history system. Those laws do not make this private site a record custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

When using this website, you agree that you will not:

• Use the site in violation of federal, Kentucky, or local law
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or harm another person with information found here
• Use site content for housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decisions
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any part of the website or its systems
• Use automated bots, scraping tools, or similar methods against the pages
• Interfere with site operation or prevent other visitors from accessing it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use material from this website or any linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against someone. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. This restriction is especially important for the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Kentucky limits misuse of registry data, and targeting a registrant with that information can bring criminal penalties. Registry access supports public-safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilante conduct, housing discrimination, or employment blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Clinton County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Its advertising partners do not offer tools designed to evaluate rental applications, screen job applicants, determine insurance rates, or assess creditworthiness. You agree that information from this website or a linked tool will not be used to:

• Make a hiring or firing decision
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Carry out any other action governed by the FCRA

A legally permitted background check for such a purpose must be obtained through the official Kentucky State Police channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.
