Clinton County Arrest Lookup

Police and deputies create the first reports when they make an arrest in Clinton County, Kentucky. The county jailer then controls the booking and custody record, while the court clerk holds any case filed after the arrest. To look up Clinton County arrest records, begin with the office tied to the event instead of expecting one countywide search. A Clinton County arrest lookup may require calls to the sheriff, jailer, Albany Police, or court clerk. State systems add other parts of the trail, but no single result replaces the local arrest report, booking sheet, and final court record.

Clinton County Arrest History

Several agencies can start a Clinton County arrest record. The Clinton County Sheriff handles county law-enforcement work, Albany Police handles incidents within the city, and Kentucky State Police may investigate or make arrests in the area. Six elected constable districts also exist. The agency that took action keeps its own incident or arrest report. If a person was booked, the elected Clinton County jailer keeps a separate intake record. These files are related, but one office does not automatically hold every part.

An arrest history is a series of custody events, not a list of convictions. A booking can show the allegation made at intake, the arresting agency, bond, and release status. The filed charge may later change. Prosecutors may decline a charge, a court may dismiss it, or a grand jury may return no indictment. To follow an old Clinton County arrest through its outcome, compare the agency report and jail record with the official District or Circuit Court file.

Clinton County Arrest Record Offices

Kentucky separates the elected sheriff from the elected jailer. Call the sheriff for a sheriff-created report and the jailer for current custody or a booking sheet. The official county directory does not name a stand-alone sheriff records division, publish its counter hours, or offer a request form. That makes a call before travel important. A focused request should state the date, location, incident number if known, originating agency, person involved, record sought, and preferred copy format.

The published sheriff fee list gives a $10 price for an accident report and a $10 to $20 range for an accident report described as “on site.” It does not state a price for arrest reports, booking sheets, photos, video, certified copies, or research time. Confirm the cost before ordering rather than applying the accident-report fee to other records.

Looking Up Clinton County Arrests

No official Clinton County arrest database or recent-booking page was located. The most reliable route starts with the event and moves through each record holder. Use the full name and date of birth when appropriate, plus an arrest date, booking date, location, report number, citation number, or case number if known. The offices have not published mandatory local search fields, so ask what identifiers they need.

  1. Call the Clinton County jailer at 606-387-7395 to ask whether the person is in current local custody and how to request releasable booking details.
  2. Request the incident or arrest report from the agency that made the arrest. Use the sheriff at 606-387-5111, Albany Police at 606-387-6649, or the Kentucky State Police records channel as the facts require.
  3. Contact the Clinton Circuit Court Clerk at 606-387-6424 after charges are filed. Match the booking to a District or Circuit file and review the charge outcome.
  4. Use a KSP name-based history for a statewide repository check when the subject gives permission. The $20 product is ordered through KSP and is not a local booking roster.
  5. Send a focused Kentucky Open Records Act request to the agency custodian if routine access fails. Ask the office how it accepts written requests because Clinton County does not publish one sheriff form.

Kentucky AOC FastCheck can supply a separate $25 CourtNet-derived report from District and Circuit activity statewide. It is marked “Not an Official Court Record.” For a signed judgment or final order tied to a Clinton County arrest, obtain the file from the local clerk.

Albany Arrest Reports and Bookings

Albany is Clinton County’s only incorporated city and its county seat. An incident inside city limits may begin with Albany Police rather than the sheriff. The police department is at 204 Water Street, Albany, KY 42602, and its published telephone is 606-387-6649. No official Albany police records portal, report form, arrest blotter, mobile app, records email, fee list, or counter schedule was found. Ask the department who serves as records custodian and confirm the current process.

Have the incident date, approximate time, location, involved name, and report or citation number ready if known. If direct police contact does not settle the route, Albany City Hall’s official contact page lists the administrative fallback at 260 Burkesville Road and 606-387-6011. A city police report is not the same as a Clinton County Jail booking entry. After an Albany arrest, use APD for its report, the jailer for intake and custody, and the clerk for charges filed in court.

The official Albany contact source is also captured in the image below.

Inside a Clinton County Arrest Record

A Clinton County booking request can ask for the fields below, but the county does not publish a sample booking sheet or promise that every field is public. Availability can depend on the record, active-investigation limits, privacy rules, and whether a photograph is releasable. Treat the charge as the allegation recorded at intake. Use the court file to learn whether that charge was amended, dismissed, carried into an indictment, or resolved by plea or trial.

Booking NumberThe jail’s identifier for one intake event, if assigned and releasable.
Booking Date & TimeWhen the jail recorded the person’s entry into custody.
Arresting AgencyThe sheriff, Albany Police, KSP, constable, or other body that made the arrest.
ChargesAllegations and statute references reported at booking, which can differ from later filed charges.
BondBond by charge, amount, or release condition when that data is part of the public record.
Booking PhotographA photograph may be created at intake, but no Clinton County online gallery or blanket release rule was located.
Release StatusCurrent custody, release time, and release method when maintained and releasable by the jailer.

Other useful request targets include aliases, arrest date and location, fingerprints, warrant or citation number, court date, and custody status. Asking for a specific field is more precise than asking an office for “everything.”

Clinton County Arrests Reach KSP

The record flow has several stops: arresting agency → jail booking → Kentucky State Police repository reporting → District Court proceedings → Circuit Court after a felony indictment. Identity and fingerprint data can connect an arrest cycle to the centralized KSP criminal-history system. The clerk then records case events and disposition data in CourtNet. Reporting delay, an identifier mismatch, an old or purged file, or expungement can produce a gap between those systems.

KSP does not offer an unrestricted public rap-sheet name search. Its Kentucky Name Based check requires the adult subject’s permission, costs $20 by check or money order, and is available by mail or walk-in. Fingerprint checks authorized by law or a requesting agency use an agency service code through IdentoGO by IDEMIA. Those state products serve different purposes from a Clinton County arrest report.

Booking Logs and Recent Arrests

Clinton County publishes no verified official jail roster, daily arrest blotter, JailTracker page, booking log, or law-enforcement app. Albany also has no located city arrest log. A missing search button does not mean records are unavailable. It means current-custody questions should go to the jailer by phone, while a request for the underlying arrest report should go to the sheriff, APD, KSP, or other agency that created it.

Call 606-387-7395 for the current local-custody check. Ask the jailer how to request the booking date, charge, bond, status, and release data that can be disclosed. Entries on a live roster often disappear after release in counties that publish one, but Clinton County has no official roster to test. Absence from KOOL, a web search, or a court-date list does not prove that no arrest occurred.

KOOL Is Not an Arrest Log

Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, known as KOOL, searches the Kentucky Department of Corrections population. Search-visible rows may show a name, whether a photo is available, a current institution or detention center, paired numeric identifiers, and a summary of offense categories. Filters include incarcerated people, and results can be sorted by last and first name.

KOOL may include a state offender housed in a county facility or a person under state supervision. It is not a full, real-time list of people newly booked into Clinton County Jail. A recent misdemeanor arrest may never belong in the DOC population. For that reason, use KOOL only when state custody or supervision is likely, and call the local jailer when the question is about a current Clinton County booking.

Match Clinton County Arrests to Court

Once charges are filed, the Clinton Circuit Court Clerk becomes the source for the official case trail. The clerk serves District and Circuit Court at 100 South Cross Street in Albany. District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic matters, ordinances, arraignments, and felony probable-cause work. An indicted felony proceeds in Circuit Court. Call 606-387-6424 or 606-387-8181, or visit Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Use the name, case number, arrest date, and charge details to help locate the file. A `T` code points to traffic, `M` to misdemeanor, `F` to a District Court felony charge, and `CR` to a Circuit criminal case. The clerk can also say whether an older public file moved to a records facility. For more detail on pleas, motions, dispositions, and signed orders, follow the Clinton County criminal court case record.

Arrests Are Not Convictions

An arrest proves only that an agency took someone into custody or issued the related process. It does not establish guilt. A conviction requires a judgment after a plea or trial. The booking charge can change before that point, and a Clinton County case can end through dismissal, acquittal, no indictment, diversion, or another lawful result.

Arrest RecordConviction Record
Created by the arresting agency and jailer.Created and maintained through the court.
Shows that an arrest or booking took place.Shows a judgment of guilt and its disposition.
Lives with the sheriff, APD, KSP, or jailer.Lives in the clerk’s District or Circuit case file and reported state systems.

Note: A Clinton County arrest is not proof of guilt, so confirm every booking charge against the final court disposition.
